Darren had many issues to deal with before he came to the Street Soccer Academy. He was concerned that those issues would leave him isolated and feeling like he was being judged.
Who better to explain how much fun the Street Soccer Stars holiday camps are, than the kids that were there? This bunch were pretty excited and had a fantastic time!
Toluope’s daughter loved her time at the Street Soccer Stars holiday camp, especially learning to dance. The camp also gave Toluope more space to work from home.
With a wide range of ages, Sarah thought the Summer camp might not suit all of her kids. She was really happy that everyone from 6 to 15 loved it even giving her 15 year old son ideas for his future.
Ruby originally joined the programme as part of her Youth & Community Leadership degree course as a staff member. In the end she ended up as a participant and learnt a lot about herself.
Shawn was very shy, quiet, anxious and nervous. Coming from a foster care background, he was new to Liverpool and didn’t really know anyone or have any friends in the area.
Jason started out on and successfully completed the Sheffield United Street Soccer Academy, since then he has gone on to secure a working role as a chef for Sheffield Wednesday (just don’t tell the Blades!!)
