Every Little Helps – Tesco supports our Easter stars camps
After a successful partnership last Summer, the Supermarket giant was pleased to continue its support of the Street Soccer Foundation to help feed more than 1,000 children across Kent this Easter.
We announced in the Summer of last year that SSF was to be a lead delivery partner in Kent to UK Government with the launch of a series of free-to-attend ‘Street Soccer Holiday Camps’ across Kent and Medway.
During the two-week Easter Holiday period, we were pleased to once again step up our efforts to help the local Kent and Medway community by hosting a total of ten Holiday Camps across the County.
Offering a range of different games and fun activities, as well as Arts & Crafts and food provision, which also included a hot meal every lunchtime for each child attending every day; the Holiday Camps also provided educational talks around confidence, resilience, and behaviour, to help support emotional wellbeing and physical and mental health of the attending children, all the while encouraging children to express themselves in a fun and safe environment.
It really helped me with my anxiety and helped me build up the courage to go back to School. I grew in confidence, and I wasn’t as anxious anymore. I’ve really enjoyed my time here and I want to say a big thank you to all the Coaches, they’re brilliant

After the success of last Summer we invested to create a new division of the Foundation naming it Street Soccer Stars, which would underpin all provision offered to children from 5 to 15 years old going forward.
During this Easter period, I am absolutely thrilled to have seen our team support a total of 1,618 children over the 2 weeks in ten sites across the County. This is a magnificent effort from all involved and I am incredibly grateful to Tesco for their continued support of our charity in this important service provision.Keith Mabbutt, Founder & CEO
It’s been a pleasure meeting Keith and his colleagues and being able to support such a noble and inspiring cause. We also arranged a visit to one of their local sites here in Rainham during the break and it was brilliant to meet some of the children and see the amazing work in person that the Street Soccer Foundation does. It was truly inspirational

The Street Soccer Stars Holiday Camps literally became a lifeline to some parents.
I wouldn’t be able to work if it wasn’t for the Street Soccer Holiday Camps. Because of them and the Camp it helps me to be able to support my family and kids. Otherwise, I just wouldn’t be able to manage it. My children are so safe and happy here. The Street Soccer team genuinely love and care for the children. It’s a lifeline and my kids are definitely coming back. It’s amazing

Tesco's donation
The donation from Tesco included milk and different boxed cereals for breakfast, bottles of water and orange and apple and blackcurrant squashes. Tesco also provided hundreds of mixed fruits, as well as chocolate Easter Eggs, which were handed out to all children on the last day of each Camp.
The fruit in particular was very popular. At each Camp, the Street Soccer Stars team created a ‘Fruit & Refreshments’ Corner, encouraging the attending children to help themselves to free fruit and drinks whenever they needed, which became a real hit with children across all sites.
The fruit went down brilliantly. We had fruit stalls which the children were free to visit any time they liked during the day. We had a mixture of bananas, apples and oranges and at the end of every day, every time all the fruit had been eaten, which was fantastic
Molly - Camp Coach
Overall, the Holiday Camps were a resounding success and enjoyed by children from all over Kent and Medway.
The Street Soccer Stars Holiday Camps will next run in the Summer later this year and will again be taking place in various locations across Kent and Medway. To book a place for your child or children, please email: camps@streetsoccerfoundation.org.uk or visit our dedicated stars page here.
