We are excited to announce that Football for Good Day will take place on Friday 22nd November at the iconic London Stadium for the second year running. The groundbreaking global initiative has been designed to celebrate the power of football as a tool for social change and community empowerment.
The collaborative effort marks a new chapter in the Foundation’s mission to use football to create a positive impact in communities around the world, focusing on fostering leadership, resilience, and inclusion, especially for marginalised youth. Football for Good Day will shine a spotlight on the role of sport in driving social good, amplifying the voices of disadvantaged youths, with a view to helping eradicate youth homelessness in the UK.
The event in London will feature a national 5-a-side football tournament bringing together hundreds of disadvantaged youth who will play in representation of football club community organisations from across the professional footballing pyramid.
Each young person taking part will have successfully completed the renowned Street Soccer Academy programme – a nationally acclaimed personal development course helping vulnerable and homeless young people become more resilient and confident, and into work, education or further training.
Throughout the day, football-related content will be shared across social media platforms to amplify the reach and impact of how football plays a crucial role in making a positive social contribution to communities and people’s lives.
