Gillingham FC Street Soccer Programme: February – April 2017
Following the success of the inaugural Street Soccer programme last year with Gillingham Football Club, we are pleased to be launching another cohort this February 2017 to help more young people experiencing homelessness and unemployment in Kent.
The Gillingham FC Street Soccer course is a nationally acclaimed personal development programme for young people aged 16-24, male and female. The 12-week football-themed course is focused on enterprise and employability and is dedicated to helping selected young participants to find work, education or training.
After a highly successful Trial Day held on Friday 27th January 2017 at the Star Meadow Sports Ground in Gillingham, 10 new participants have been selected to join the next programme for the forthcoming 12-weeks.
The personal development programme will run every Wednesday, 10.30am – 2.30pm, starting 1 February 2017. All selected individuals will be given official Street Soccer kit to wear during the course, along with a tailored Personal Development Plan and a free lunch at each session. The course also includes opportunities to visit Priestfield Stadium and meet first team players, promising an unforgettable experience.
