The Street Soccer Foundation is delighted to welcome MyConcern (Safeguarding Software) as its latest Premier Business Supporter. Through the delivery of our nationally acclaimed Street Soccer Academy programme, football is used as the catalyst to both engage and improve the lives of vulnerable and homeless young people across the country. With an increasing number of factors that can affect the wellbeing of our members – we see this latest partnership as a perfect fit.
MyConcern is the Award-Winning Safeguarding Software created by child protection experts and the brainchild of former senior police officers Martin Baker QPM and Mike Glanville.
It’s a safe and effective way for recording, reporting and managing all safeguarding and well-being concerns about young people or adults at risk who connect with sports and charities. Already being used by many schools in the UK and internationally it’s now being adopted by other sectors to manage the needs of young people in settings outside education. The guidance states that everyone is responsible for the safeguarding and well-being of our future generation, so it’s important those working with young people can manage their responsibilities easily and have the tools at their fingertips to do so.
The system is a trusted and secure online platform, enabling early intervention, but it can also transform existing safeguarding processes to minimise risk and ensure compliance. It can provide safeguarding leads and sports clubs with the peace of mind that they are meeting their statutory, legal and moral obligations to the people in their care, whilst also providing evidence for court proceedings. It also boasts a handy mobile app, perfect for safeguarding on the go, or reporting an issue whilst in the middle of a football field.

Sadly, it’s not uncommon for our Academy programme participants to experience issues such as mental health, domestic violence, gangs or even drug and alcohol abuse. These are themes affecting many young people across the country, and almost all of those we support will have encountered some form of adversity at a point in their lives.

MyConcern is already used by a significant number of clubs in the Premier League and English Football league to manage the well-being of their members and youth teams. The fact that the Street Soccer Foundation also works with a number of Premier League Clubs on the community side neatly aligns to this new partnership allowing us to continue to provide the same great level of support and help for those we come into contact with.
