A Brief Message From Our CEO
I’m pleased to report for the benefit of all our partners and stakeholders, sponsors and valued community of supporters, that as of 19th May 2020, the Street Soccer Foundation became an official registered Charity with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Having operated as a non-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) for the past few years, the transition to become a formally recognised charity was something we felt was important to achieve. Now listed on the Register of Charities, our charitable purpose remains the same: to bring the power of football into communities nationwide and to inspire and encourage vulnerable and homeless young people to turn their lives around for the better.
The Trustees of the Foundation have worked hard to bring about our official charitable status and this marks another important milestone for everyone involved in helping to drive the Foundation forward.
Fundamentally, our mission is to deliver meaningful impact through the delivery of our programmes by changing lives, creating opportunities and building better futures for all the young people we engage with.
On our now becoming a formally recognised charity I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank every individual who in whatever way has supported the Street Soccer Foundation up to this point.
With the likelihood of an economic recession after government restrictions are lifted, we among the many other charities across the country are already preparing for additional demand for our services, particularly from what could be best described as “a new wave of people” going into financial hardship and other difficulties. There is no doubt that the charity sector will play a crucial role in rebuilding our society.
I sincerely hope we can count on your continued valued support going forward, to help make a positive difference to other people’s lives.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we are Street Soccer UNITED. Together, Changing Lives through Football.
