Wildwood Media celebrating a decade of video Production

Wildwood Media is 10

Our videographer partner Wildwood Media is celebrating a decade of media production by
sponsoring one of our flagship Street Soccer Academies.

Over the past ten years, Wildwood Media has produced films for partners including the NHS,
National Grid, Vanity Fair, English Heritage, Kent County Council and the National Citizen Service.

From live streaming conferences and flying drones to telling people’s personal stories and
showcasing the work of charities and businesses, Wildwood Media’s Managing Director Chris
Newberry his team, including Jack James who runs Wildwood Media’s Northampton branch, have travelled the country making a wide range of films.

For the past five years, the film company has covered Street Soccer Foundation events, including sleepouts, football tournaments and our programmes supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.

This includes our ten-week personal development programme, the Street Soccer Academy, which is run in partnership with professional football club community organisations across the country.

As a Tottenham Hotspur fan, Chris has chosen to sponsor the academy starting this week at
Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to mark Wildwood Media’s 10th anniversary.

Supporting Spurs runs in Chris’s family and he has been hooked since attending his first game.

I really wanted to do something special to thank all our clients and team members who have got us this far.

I had a lot of ideas but nothing was feeling quite right, then I had a lightbulb moment – we could sponsor an Street Soccer Academy as a dedication to our clients.

As a huge Spurs fan, it means even more to celebrate with them in some way.

By sponsoring a Street Soccer Academy, Wildwood Media will enable around ten young people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, to access the course, which aims to help them implement positive changes in their lives and take steps towards moving into education, training or employment afterwards.

Street Soccer Academy graduates also get the opportunity to represent the club where they
completed the programme in a national football tournament against fellow academies, held at a prestigious football venue, which in the past has included the London Stadium and the home of England football, St George’s Park.

Chris added:

“I’m looking forward to giving vulnerable youths the chance to turn their lives around.

The amount of diverse backgrounds of people on these courses is amazing and there is never ‘one’ reason why they are homeless or at risk.

I’ve seen firsthand for over five years the life-changing reach that these academies have – it’s been incredible.

To be in a position to help put on a course is beyond words.”

Keith Mabbutt, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Street Soccer Foundation, said:

“When Chris approached me about sponsoring one of our Street Soccer Academies as a means of celebrating his fantastic achievement, I was incredibly humbled.

Chris has become a dear friend to me and him choosing to invest in the support of others through our programme, which he knows so well, means a great deal.

It’s a special moment for both of us, particularly with the chosen Academy being with our valued partners the Spurs Foundation.

This represents two Kent entrepreneurs coming together, collaborating in a very special way to both celebrate and give back all through the power of football.

I am really looking forward to what we can collectively achieve for the benefit of others can’t thank Chris and his team enough.”
